Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity.
My name is Pat Gamble. I am an art director, renaissance man, and ambidextrous.1
I was raised in the wild, if by wild you mean the rural suburbs of Portland, Oregon.2
I attended U of O (Oregon) for a year then left to pursue a music career and study PSU (Portland, not Penn).3
I had a long college career at PSU that played out like a montage in an 80’s coming of age movie.4
My career as an overeducated rockstar and bartender left me wanting more so I studied graphic design at night for two years at PNCA (Pacific Northwest College of Art). Being a rocker and polymath I decided I wanted to do something a little more varried than just design and went to MAS (Miami Ad School) for two years to learn design’s more creatively rewarding sister Art Direction and haven’t regretted it for a second.
(1) only at billiards.
(2) Naturally this means that I can pilot a boat, cut down a tree with an axe, and drink free-range organic coffee while reading marx.
(3) frat parties, stoned hacky sack drum circles, and 200 person lectures on eastern philosophies really aren’t my style.
(4) I took life breaks to: record albums, go on tour with bands, start a recording studio, work construction, tend bar, work as a booking agent, travel to vermont and back on the Greyhound bus – you know, regular kid stuff.
